Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a clandestine sect.
The mission focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive implements
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Addition
This release also introduces the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
